Time to Try Something New.
For the longest time i've thought my expression of creativity was only writing, because I don't paint or draw well - and I'm not naturally 'crafty.'
I'm coming to realize that for years I've unconsciously 'stayed in my lane,' even though I've really wanted to try expressing myself in other ways. Don't get me wrong, writing is part of the patchwork fabric that makes up my soul, but now I'm starting to think there are other faded, tatty squares of that blanket who deserve some attention too. Now, if you know me, it will come as no surprise that my first exploration in creating something with more than the written word, has started at the shore. And I have loved the process of spending time with my camera, listening to different music and trying to get the right feel, and blending it all together with spoken words. I've loved frowning at software that I have no idea how to use, and trying to work out what I'm doing wrong with my long lens, because it means I'm on that journey of discovery again, and who knows where I'll end up.
Am I knocking it out of the park compared to all the other brilliant videographers out there? No. But I am knocking it out of the park for me. I am creating for me. And I am making joy, for me. And in the course of this, I hope it brings you joy, and encourages you to have a go at whatever takes your fancy too.

P.S. ~ I have little post-it notes stuck round the screen of my PC, and today I added a new one;
You don't have to stay in your lane.
