How to make a little something from book reviews.
As well as being an author, I’m also a publisher, and over at J & S Romance, we’ve just started gathering lovely readers for our Promo Team…. (And just incase you don’t know, a Promo Team, or Street Team, is a group of readers we offer books to for free, in return for honest reviews. If reading romance and talking about it on your socials is your kind of thing, I’ll leave some more information about it Here.)
But one of the things we do like to do at J&S, is give our Reviewers as much useful information as possible. And although getting free books is great, if we can share info to help them make some extra pounds, then all the better.
When we offer our Team a book to review, we’re basically asking them to help us get the word out that the author tells a great story. And the main way is to share photos to socials with a link to buy. And herein lies the way to make extra; most people share an Amazon link. Although our books are available everywhere; online, shops and in libraries ~ Amazon is still the most shared online retailer.
And Amazon offer an Associates Program. It’s open to everyone, you set up an account, add your website and socials, and a ‘site stripe’ will show at the top of your Amazon page. This will enable you to search for the links you’re going to share, and these links will have an affiliate code built into them, that will track your recommendations and pay your account. Don’t get me wrong, there are (a few) people who make scads of money doing this, but for most of us it’s only a few pennies here and there. But, once you get the hang of it, the sky’s the limit.
And to make it as easy as possible, here’s a simple breakdown of how to set it up from the very useful GuideRealm.
Enjoy Lovely People.
